17 years former US Ambassador to Italy Mel
Sembler operated Straight, Inc., arguably
the most destructive juvenile drug treatment
program in the world. Ray Bradbury had been
a client in this cult and later a counselor.
Like the so-called Church of Scientology™
Straight is a confession-based cult. Straight
kids were starved, beaten, restrained, spat
upon and deprived of sleep in an effort
to force them to sign a confession of their
life before Straight. Kids admitted to intimate
details of their lives prior to Straight,
including their sex lives. Kids often invented
stories of drug usage and abnormal sexual
activity in order to stop the torture. Sometimes,
in a cult of confession, kids confessed
to things they had not done at all in order
so as not to be outdone by a fellow confessor.

Timing
of Guetzloe's announcement On Tuesday Florida
Republican talk show host and Sembler mouthpiece
in Winter Garden Doug Guetzloe stood
before a judge to argue a motion to dismiss
all charges against him for 14 counts of violating
election laws. The judge denied the motion.
So he argued a motion to reduce the charges
to one count. But the judge dismissed that too.
So he pled no contest. But before the judge
could sentenced him, his attorney announced
that he has cancer. The judge then sentenced
Guetzloe to 60 days in jail. Last month when
Florida Republican Congressman Mark Foley was
caught messing with teenage boys, he resigned
from office. Then his spokesperson announced
that he had an alcohol problem. In 2003 Florida
Republican money man Mel Sembler sued Ray Bradbury
to reclaim his discarded penile pump (an instrument
sometimes sold as medical devices and sometimes
as sexual toys.) When the bizarre lawsuit made
it into the news, Sembler's attorney told the
press that his client had had cancer and the
device had been medically recommended. Coincidents?
A pattern?
They
don't care about civil liberties or our
nation's children. . . They only care about
getting rich . . .

Bradbury sues, continued.
But what did Straight do with these coerced
confessions--after Straight? Bradbury left Straight
in the 1980s and became it's major detractor.
Much of what we know today about Straight comes
from records retrieved by Mr. Bradbury from
Straight's discarded trash. After Straight surrendered
its license in 1993 Bradbury continued to go
through Ambassador Sembler's trash to further
document the horrors of Straight and to make
sure Sembler did not try to secretly try to
reopen the Straights. In one of these dumpster
dives he discovered a sexual device belonging
to the ambassador. He publicized his findings
and was sued by the Semblers. The Semblers dropped
their law suit in 2007, but during depositions
for that suit, Bradbury claims that he was asked
embarrassing questions about his early years
that could have only come from his confessions
at Straight.
Bradbury is blaming the state of Florida for
not protecting client files after Straight turned
in its license. He is suing the Department of
Children and Families for this breach claiming
gross negligence and infliction of emotional
